BSANA Dues Policy

To the Membership of the Byzantine Studies Association of North America (BSANA), Inc.:

Per the decision of the BSANA Governing Board (11.x.2007), a new policy will be instituted this year for the collection of BSANA dues. The renewal notice for payment of 2008 dues will be circulated in mid-December and payment will be due January 31, 2008. The dues remain $20 for regular members and $10 for students, independent scholars, and emeriti.

The Call for Papers for the 2008 Byzantine Studies Conference (BSC) (to be held at Rutgers University, October 16-19, 2008) will be circulated in early January, and abstracts will be due March 1 to the Vice President of BSANA. Any individual submitting an abstract who is not a member in good standing of BSANA on March 1 will be allowed two weeks to renew his or her membership. On March 15, only abstracts of members who have paid their dues will be forwarded to the Chair of the Program Committee.

An exception to the above policy will be made for scholars residing outside of the United States, who will continue to be allowed to pay BSANA dues at the annual conference. No one may deliver a paper at the BSC without being a current BSANA member.
